Monday, 13 September 2010
Queens, NY – Today, the New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) enthusiastically endorsed Congressman Anthony D. Weiner (D – Brooklyn & Queens) for his reelection to Congress, citing his long-standing record and commitment to the environment.
Throughout his career, Rep. Weiner has been a tireless advocate for environmental protection. From working to improve Gateway National Recreation, the nation's largest urban national park, to helping restore Jamaica Bay's vanishing wetlands, guarding Brooklyn and Queens’ natural beauty has always been one of Weiner's highest priorities.
“New York needs leaders who will fight for a clean-energy future and good green jobs,” said Marcia Bystryn, president of the New York League of Conservation Voters. “Anthony Weiner is leading the charge for a safer, healthier environment and a strong, sustainable economy. Washington needs more leaders like Anthony Weiner, and we are proud to endorse him for Congress.”
